Inclusion opened it’s doors on February 1, 1995. We were working with 6 people, and were the demonstration project for the Home and Community Based Services Waiver. Until then, most people who we work with now would have been in ICF/ID or group home as it was often called. This was the first time in Idaho that a Medicaid service started to move away from the Medical Active Treatment model to a more individualized, home based service. On July 1st, 1995 the HCBS Waiver was initiated, and so it began. Since that first day in 1995 we have made it our mission to provide support to people in their own homes, in the place they would like to live, with whom they would like to live, and live, work and recreate in their own communities. We have met many people along the way, and learned something from every one of them. We have been privileged to work with some great folks who helped shape who we are today. In March of 1997, we opened Inclusion Vocational Support, and in the summer of 1997 opened our Inclusion South and North offices. We continue to provide services in the Twin Falls area, Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell areas, and in Couer D’Alene, and Sandpoint areas. We have built an incredible team along the way who respect the opportunity they have been given to participate in the lives of the people we serve.
